  • Identify the issues impacting on the operational efficiency of the home
  • Investigate the root cause

My tried and tested method uses established audit tools:

  • direct/indirect observation of working practices
  • nurses-eye-view observation (working several shifts as a nurse to get a feel for the operation from the inside)
  • interviews with care home staff, residents and regular visitors to the home

After a comprehensive analysis of the information gathered during the audit, I will work with your management and staff to ensure that the necessary operating systems are reviewed and adjusted. This provides a unique platform for autonomy and control within the care home setting, which is crucial to reducing, if not eliminating, the persistent recurrence of “the same old problems”.

My approach is based on 28 years of nursing and management experience and a proven track record for excellence in Care Home Management.

Step 1: Data gathering:

1. Meet with the clients to ascertain individual and/or specific

2. Interview meeting with the care home manager to identify current concerns/issues

3. Review of current quality audits, care documentation and complaints

4. Conduct an environmental audit.

6. Meet with residents, relatives and regular visitors to the home to obtain their views

7. Work on the floor with nurses and carers to establish:

Step 2: Data Analysis

1. Completion of detailed audit to establish identified outcomes and baseline needs

2. Review of 1.1 and 1.2 with home manager and relevant staff.

3. Establish a collaborative action plan based on 2.2.

4. Feedback report to client and discussion of proposed outcomes.

Step 3: Implement and review proposed changes

1. Deliver action plan with deadlines, responsible persons and agreed review dates

2. Review of action plan to full completion.

3. Complete progress reports as agreed with client.

4. Arrange follow up support as agreed with client
